4/23/18 MRI & Bone Scan Results

Today we met with my oncologist to find out the results of my recent MRI & Bone scans to check the status of the cancer since Chemo started in November, 2017.

The Good News:
No cancer was detected in the right breast, Praise God!
Cancer has reduced in the left breast, Praise God!!

Cancer in the bone has “stabilized” which means it is successfully being controlled by the chemo, Praise God!!!

The Bad News:
My White Blood Cell (WBC) count has hit an all time low (.7).  Please see the link below as a reference as to how dangerous that is.  I am quarantined to the house until my WBC rebounds as exposure to any disease, or even the common cold, can send me to the ER.

The Next Step:
Estrogen is this cancer’s food source. The ovaries are the single greatest producer of estrogen in the body. Since the cancer is responding well to the chemo, it has been recommended to remove the ovaries. We have an appointment with my ob/gyn to discuss options. A laparoscopy is the least invasive option.
We were also presented with the option of a mastectomy, but were told it would not change treatment making it of little value to pursue such an invasive procedure.

Special Note of Appreciation:

Thank you so so much to each and every one of you that have prayed for me, sent words of encouragement, purchased a painting, made a donation, helped with our daughter, and given your love & support in numerous other ways.  Each and every one of you played an important roll in helping to keep my spirits up, my faith strong, and fight against this cancer.

Keep the Fight Strong:

These results are very encouraging and we praise God for making it possible. Now we need to keep the fight strong so that we can beat this cancer and, God willing, make it a thing of the past. We humbly ask you all to keep your prayers going and your faith strong. Any help and support you can provide is greatly appreciated!

With Love,
Mylene Ausdauer
